Tk 48.96 lakh distributed among 816 FFs in Rangpur

District unit command of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad (BMS) distributed Taka 48.96 lakh as grants from its own resources among 816 freedom fighters (FFs) of the district on Sunday.
District Unit Commander of BMS Mosaddek Hossain Bablu distributed cheques of Taka 6,000 among each of the FFs from allover the district and Rangpur city at a function held at District Muktijoddha Complex (DMC) Bhaban here as the chief guest.
“Earlier, we also distributed Taka 22 lakh among the FFs of the district from earnings of the District Muktijoddha Complex,” said Bablu adding that the process would continue in future for ensuring welfare of the FFs.
Deputy Commanders of the district unit command of BMS Golam Mostafa, Matiar Rahman and Haji Md Atiar Rahman, Rangpur city unit Commander of BMS Sadrul Alam Dulu, FFs Habibur Rahman Sona, Md Obaidullah, Mahbubur Rahman, Abu Yusuf, Azadul Islam Khan, Jahangir Alam, among others, addressed the function.
Leaders of the district, city and all eight upazila units of BMS from all over the district, civil society members, socio-cultural and political activists, journalists and local elite were present.
Lauding the unique initiative taken in the country for the first time since 2014 by district unit command of BMS, speakers on the occasion said the example might be followed by all other 63 district units and 486 upazila units of BMS in future in the country.
They said the unique initiative launched by Rangpur district unit Command of BMS would become a pioneering example in ensuring welfare of all FFs side by side with massive efforts taken by the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
