Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered ‘hundi’ money amounting to Tk 34.61 lakh from Sadhupur frontier area in Sharsha upazila on Tuesday morning.
Lt Col Ariful Haque, Commanding Officer of BGB-49 battalion said on secret information a team
of border force conducted a raid led by Habilder Md Mamunur Rashid in Sadhupur area around 7:30am.
Sensing presence of the border guards, the ‘hundi’ traders fled the scene leaving behind a bag containing the amount. However, none was arrested in this connection.
The money will be deposited to Benapole Port Police Station, the CO said.
