Tk.3 lakh was snatched by some miscreants from a client in Janata Bank branch situated on Rail Road on Sunday .
Md. Abul Bashar, Manger of the Bank said that one Md. Afzal Hossain of village Rahimabad under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila withdrew Tk.2.8 lakh from local Sonali bank and went to Janata Bank along with his son-in-law.
Later. he sat on a sofa of the bank and sent the son-in-law to the bank counter to withdraw money. By this time some miscreants dropped some papers on the floor just before the man and told him, your some valuable papers fell on the floor. As a result, the man became unmindful for a while. Taking the opportunity the miscreants snatched away money from him and fled away.
But the hijackers could not be identified as there is no cc camera in the bank branch. Nobody was arrested in connection with the incident till the writing of this report.
