Distribution of relief goods of Taka 271 crore among the flood affected people in haor areas is continuing under the supervision of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry.
A total of 3,924 tonnes of rice and Taka 2 crore 18 lakh have so far been distributed among the affected people, said an official release.
The ministry allocated 32,340 tonnes of rice for 3.30 lakh flood-hit people through VGF programme and Taka 82.7 crore for 91,447 extreme poor under work for food programme, the release said.
The ministry has assigned additional secretary and joint secretary level officials of the ministry to look after the relief distribution programme.
Besides, leaves of officials and employees of haor areas under the ministry have been cancelled.
