Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has proposed Taka 2,083.35 crore budget for 2016-17 financial year (FY17).
Out of the total allocation, Taka 948.25 crore will come from the city corporation’s own source including Taka 480 crore from holding taxes. DNCC Mayor Annisul Huq yesterday made the announcement in a city hotel where the corporation’s Chief Executive Officer Mesbahul Islam and senior officials were present.
During his announcement, Annisul said: “Holding taxes is the key
component of own source. So, DNCC expects that 50.6 percent of total revenue will come from holding taxes.”
Apart from this, DNCC expects to earn taxes and revenue from sources including trade licences, advertisements, rickshaw licences, markets and cattle markets, he added.
He also said, the allocations will be spent on salary and allowances Taka 135 crore, water, power and electricity Taka 51.50 crore, waste management Taka 46.90 crore, repairing and maintenance Taka 24.25 crore and mosquito control Taka 23.25 crore.
