Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, here today said various types of development projects involving Taka 20,000 crore have been implemented in Rajshahi city during the last 10 years.
“Currently, many other development works are also being implemented in the district,” he said while sharing views with journalists at Party Point ahead of the upcoming national election.
Lawmaker Badsha said implementation of Bangabandhu Hi-tech Park here is progressing fast and employment scopes for over 14,000 youths will be created after its successful completion.
He told journalists that ‘Rajshahi WASA Surface Water Treatment Plant Project with Taka 4,062 crore’ has been approved in ECNEC meeting recently for providing treated water to Rajshahi people.
Badsha said people of the country want to see continuation of the ongoing development process to build a happy and prosperous country.
“People of the country are leading a happy life as the present government has implemented various programnmes for building an economically advanced country,” he added. He said there is no alternative to victory of the 14-party alliance in the next general election.
“We will be able to win in the next general election under the leadership of Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina,” he told the meeting.
Besides, he mentioned that Bangladesh is marching towards a middle-income country under the dynamic and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Badsha said the next parliamentary election will be participatory and inclusive that will be very much effective of consolidating the democratic process.
Rajshahi to have 100 garment factories in five years: Liton
Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) AHM Khairuzzaman Liton has said at least 100 garment factories will be established in Rajshahi city within next five years.
He said the persons, who received training on tailoring and dress-making and other skill-development trades, will get jobs in the factories on a priority basis. Mayor Liton made the announcement while addressing a round table sharing meeting in the City Bhaban conference hall on Thursday as chief guest.
Child and Women Rights Advocacy (CWRA) organized the meeting in association with Rajshahi region of UCEP Bangladesh.
Panel Mayors Shariful Islam Babu and Tahera Khatun, director of Foundation for Women and Child Assistance Wahida Khanom(FWCA), local unit president of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh Anjuman Ara Parveen, deputy programme officer of UCEP Bangladesh Dr Ferdous Ara Parveen and its technical head Sheikh Raoshan Amin also spoke.
Liton said he is committed to generating employment opportunities for one lakh unemployed people and pledged bound to expedite industrialization process in the city. He said, “I want to regain the previous image of Rajshahi as a green and clean city through making it eye-catching one on a priority basis.”
He is also pledged bound to build Rajshahi as a prosperous, modern and developed city. “I am very much hopeful about improving the living and livelihood condition of Rajshahi people,” he added.
Ltion told the meeting that Taka 10,000-crore projects will be implemented within next five years in Rajshahi city for improving living and livelihood condition of its people.
He further said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very much positive towards development of the city. So, he expected that there will no financial problem in implementing the development schemes.
