Driver and police sub-inspector were injured as Tk 200 cr cash-carrier covered van of Bangladesh Bank has collided with a local bus at 10:00 am on Tuesday near Goriarpar area of Barisal city skirt on Barisal-Dhaka Highway.
Nurul Alam Kazi, General Manager of Bangladesh Bank Barisal Branch, said the cash was delivering on the vehicle rented by contractor for this purpose to Dhaka head office accompanied by 40-police escorts and one official of BB Barisal branch.
After the accident BB official with escorts and cash went to Dhaka on alternative transport at about 11:15 am , said AKM Golam Maola, deputy general manager (banking) , BB Barisal Branch.
