A gang of unidentified muggers snatched Tk 20 lakh shooting a man in the city’s Banasree area on Thursday afternoon.
The victim has been identified as Saiful Islam, 30, an officer of Fashion Island Garment Factory. He was admitted at the United Hospital in Gulshan, police said.
Rampura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Proloy Kumar Shaha said that four motorcycle-ridden snatchers intercepted Saiful at Banasree area around 2:00pm while returning from a bank by
rickshaw with cash and shot him to rob.
Saiful received two rounds of bullets at left leg, the police official said.
“We are investigating into the incident,” the OC said. A case was filed with the police station in this connection, he said.
