National Consumer Rights Protection Department (NCRPD) under the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday fined and realized Taka 2.53 lakh from different shops in three district towns including the capital.
The NCRPD with their seven individual monitoring team visited seven markets at Naogaon, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and the capital city and fined Taka 2,53,000 to 18 shops.
The business establishments were fined for not displaying price chart, producing food under unhygienic condition, charging exorbitant prices of products and for selling product without expiry date.
