Chittagong district authority on behalf of the govt has sanctioned 96 metric tons of rice and cash Tk.18 lakh for flood affected people in 14 upazilas of the district and city corporation areas. This was declared by the deputy commissioner of Chittagong Mesbahuddin at the meeting of Disaster Management committee of Chittagong held at circuit house on Sunday. Deputy commissioner said govt will take immediate steps to repair the affected bridge and culverts and as a part of govt rehabilitation program, govt has sanctioned 96 tons rice and cash Tk.18 lakh for immediate relief of the sufferer.
These grants of rice and cash taka will be distributed among the affected upazilas and parts of the city corporation areas. Concerned UNOs of the upazilas asked to distribute the relief material with transparent and with cordial manner.
Among others, deputy director of local govt Md Abul Hossasin, Additional police super Mostafizur Rahman, Raozan Upzila chairman Ehsanul Haider chowdhury Babul,Rangunia UZ chairman Ali shah, district relief officer Abul Basharspoke on the occasion. All upazila chairman, UNOs and members of disaster committees were present in it.
