UNB, Dhaka :Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Thursday proposed to allocate TK 16980 crore for Local Government and Rural Development sector for the fiscal year 2014-15.Of the allocation, Local government division will get Tk 15464 crore while Rural Development and Co-operative Division Tk 1516 crore.In his budget speech, the minister said “We believe in equitable development in all parts of the country. We want to narrow the existing gap between rural and urban areas in terms of development which will stem the tide of urban migration.”Muhith said that each union parishad will be transformed into a vibrant habitat with all modern civic amenities.
