Tk 11 lakh stolen by breaking vault of Cumilla BKB

More than Tk 11 lakh has been stolen from Cumilla Krishi Bank by breaking the vault of the bank amidst poor security system and irresponsibility of the guard.
GM of Cumilla Krishi Bank and police super presumed that the thieves stole the money by breaking the vault on Tuesday night as the guard leaving his duty fell asleep at home and also due to lack of arrangement for CCTV.
Shakib Salehin, manager of the bank, lodged a case against the unknown accused on Wednesday afternoon for the incident of theft at the Krishi Bank’s Miabazar branch of number 2 Uzirpur union under Choddogram upazila of Cumilla.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Al Mahfuz, OC of Choddogram police station, informed that a case has been filed against some unknown people for the incident of theft at the Krishi Bank.
After the incident, three people including the two guards of the bank and a peon were detained for interrogation. However, the peon was released. The two guards have been kept under police custody.
Investigation is going on to bring the accused involved with the theft under the purview of the law.
