A Titumir College student was found dead at his rented house in the capital’s South Kamalapur area on Saturday afternoon, soon after he posted what appeared to be a suicide note on his Facebook account.
The note is currently being reviewed.
SM Mojibur Rahman Saimon, 23, was a fourth year student of the college.
On information, police recovered the body around 5:30pm and sent it to
Dhaka Medical College morgue around 8:00pm. Hailing from Laksham of Cumilla, Saimon used to live with a few roommates in South Kamalapur Sardar Colony. He posted a status on his Facebook around 4:30pm, the nature of which alerted his friends.
Sheikh Saiful Islam, a sub-inspector of Motijheel Police Station, said they recovered the body after getting call from Saimon’s roommate who was out of Dhaka at the time.
“The roommate called police after seeing his Facebook status. Further details can be known after getting the postmortem report,” he added.
