Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Monday urged Bhutan to use the Syedpur Airport for better connectivity. “If Bhutan uses Syedpur Airport, both the countries could reap a boost in trade and tourism,” he said while Bhutanese Ambassador Sonam Rabgye met him at his secretariat office, said a ministry release. Requesting the Bhutanese Ambassador to take necessary measures regarding the Syedpur airport, he said Bangladesh and Bhutan have a scope to expand bilateral trade further and it should be capitalized. Bangladesh exports food, RMG items, pharmaceuticals and few other products to Bhutan, but imports huge quantity of construction materials that poses a trade deficit for the country.
