Tipu seeks media support for development

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, MP, has sought a positive support from the media for the sake of national as well as regional development.
“The journalists always expose conscience, spirit and ideology and disclose the truth. I want to work with everyone,” he said while addressing a reception accorded to him by Rangpur Press Club on Wednesday night.
President of Rangpur Press Club Sadrul Alam Dulu presided over the function moderated by its Treasurer Shushanto Bhowmick. General secretary of Rangpur Press Club Rashid Babu delivered inaugural speech welcoming Tipu Munshi, a freedom fighter and brilliant son of Rangpur, on his arrival here for the first time after becoming a full minister.
Tipu said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has fulfilled the long-cherished demand of Rangpur people by giving a full minister and asked me to work sincerely for development of Rangpur region.”
He said the prime minister has asked him to work for development of the backward population and he would continue working at her directives.
“Knowing me as a good man, the prime minister has given me the responsibility of an important ministry. I have no personal greed or lust. I will never ruin the faith of the prime minister in me,” he said.
Earlier on his arrival in Rangpur at night, Tipu placed wreaths at the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the Bangabandhu Square.
He exchanged views with leaders and workers Awami League (AL) at the
party’s district and city unit offices.
Later, local leaders and workers of AL and its associate bodies accorded
warm reception to him at Rangpur Circuit House.
