Timir Nandi is at a time sound warrior, freedom-fighter, singer, music composer and director. Last year this noted musician crossed 50 years of his career in music. On this occasion, G-Series released an album titled Meghla Du’Chokh of this singer comprising his 14 songs. Timir Nandi is composing songs for the new generation’s singers now. Recording of patriotic and modern songs have already started.
While talking in this regard Timir Nandi said, “Basically Regional Director of Bangladesh Betar Syed Mostafa Kamal requested me to compose songs for new generation’s singers. For this reason, I have already started recording of some patriotic and modern songs on Bangabandhu for Betar. Rest numbers of songs will be recorded soon. During Corona pandemic, I have given some songs to new generation’s singers for practicing music at home. When recording day will be fixed they will come and lend their voices.”
He also said Rongu Shahabuddin, Md Rafiqul Hasan, Khokon Sirajul Islam, Ayet Hossain Ujjal and Salma Akter wrote lyrics of these songs to keep request from Timir Nandi. Linu Billah, Mokhlesul Islam Nilu, Jinat Rehana, Tanveer Alam Swajeeb, Shahnaz Rahman Swikriti, Chhonda Chakraborty, Shorolipi, Sondipon, Ronti Das, Nishita Barua, Muhin, Champa Banik, Shahina Haque, Rajib, Himadri Biswas, Priyanka Gope, Rebeka Sultana, among others will lend their voices for these songs. Timir Nandi also informed that after Liberation War in 1971, at Moddhyogram of 24-Parganas of West Bengal, India, one of his natives requested him to compose two songs. From that time he started his career as music composer. In 1972, he formed a cultural organisation, Rojoni with his friends in Dhaka. During that time he composed many songs those lyrics were written by his friends. In BTV’s serial Shonkito Podojatra, he first worked as music director. In this serial, his composed a song titled Badhon khule dilam got huge popularity during that time.
