Health experts at a seminar stressed for timely and proper diagnosis of heart diseases, continuous medication and systematic lifestyle for the hypertension patients to assist them in leading normal life. They put importance on early diagnosis of high blood pressure (HBP) or hypertension considering various aspects of the patients like age, other diseases, if any, to begin treatment to get desired result in maintaining blood pressure within normal limit.
Panchagarh Diabetic Samity with assistance of Dinajpur Zia Heart Foundation Hospital and Research Institute organised the seminar on ‘Health Initiative for Preventing Heart Disease’ at Mokbular Rahman Diabetic Hospital hall room on Friday in Panchagarh district town.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Panchagarh Ahmed Kabir attended the seminar as the chief guest with General Secretary of Panchagarh Diabetic Samity Mokhlesur Rahman Mintu in the chair.
Acting President of Dinajpur Zia Heart Foundation Hospital and Research Institute AKM Azad and its General Secretary Abul Hossain Patwari attended the seminar as special guests. Chief Consultant of Dinajpur Zia Heart Foundation Hospital Dr AKM Sohail delivered the keynote presentation in the seminar which also addressed by its Consultant Dr Ikhtiar Hassan Khan. The experts said Dinajpur Zia Heart Foundation Hospital Foundation conducts bypass surgery, open heart surgery, closed heart surgery, valve replacement, angiogram, setting up of rings in heart and kidney arteries and pacemaker using the world class latest technologies and equipments.
Narrating the types and phases of hypertension in person-to- person cases, they asked the physicians to measure HBP variation also at day and night, to begin optimal medication avoiding aggressive treatment at initial stages unless the situation demands.
They suggested weight loss, salt restriction, smoking cessation, regular aerobic exercise, alcoholic restriction, proper food habit, taking necessary medicines, systematic life to reduce risks of the silent killer disease keeping blood pressure within normal limit.
In his speech, the chief guest thanked the authorities of Dinajpur Zia Heart Foundation Hospital for giving special attention to the poor patients and providing them with the low-cost treatments of heart ailments in the foundation. After the seminar, a group of specialist physicians from Chief Consultant of Dinajpur Zia Heart Foundation Hospital led by Dr A K M Sohail provided free treatments to some 200 patients suffering from various heart ailments at a free heart camp there.
