The government will deploy additional forces to beef up security across the country to ensure peaceful celebration of upcoming Pahela Baishakh, the state minister for home said.
The state minister Asaduzzaman Khan briefed journalists at his ministry after a meeting on security measures planned for Pahela Baishakh, the Bengali New Year’s Day to be celebrated on April 14.
He said, Border Guard Bangladesh has also been asked to remain alert and they can also be deployed if needed.
The State Minister said vehicular movement on some roads in Dhaka city will be restricted on the day.
Check posts of police and RAB will be also be set up in different parts of the city as part of the security measures, he said.
