The Bangladesh national cricket team will return home today (Thursday) following their victories in both the three-match ODI and T20I series against host West Indies.
The Tigers are expected to reach the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here at 8.40 in the morning.
Although Bangladesh began the tour of West Indies on a frustrating note losing both the Test matches but they fought back to clinch the ODI series by 2-1 over West Indies after nine years away from Bangladeshi soil.
In the T20I series, Bangladesh lost the first T20 match by seven wickets in Duckworth Lewis method at Basseterre while powered by half-centuries from Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan, which was backed up by an excellent final over from Nazmul Islam, Tigers tied the three-match series after winning the second match by 12 runs in Lauderhill.
The Tigers once again made the nation proud after winning the series defeating West Indies by 19 runs in their third and final T20 match in Duckworth Lewis method at the same venue.
The Tigers’ next assignment is the Asia Cup, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates. Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the tournament opener on September 15.
