The Tigers started skill training camp on Saturday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong ahead of their home series against Australia.
In the week-long camp, the first three days will be skill training which will be followed by three-day practice match between among themselves from August 9-11. After the match Bangladesh team will return to the capital on August 12.
The preparations of Bangladesh team intensified after the pay dispute between the Australian players and the board was finally resolved as the Bangladesh preliminary squad training camp shifted to Chittagong on Friday afternoon.
Talking to the reporters on Saturday during the practice session Tigers’ pacer Taskin Ahmed said his team has good possibility about doing well against Australia.
He said Australia is a best team in the World in all formats, but they have ability a something good against them and all are ready to give their best.
Taskin said it would be a big achievement for them if they able to do something good against Australia. This experience would also help them to go ahead.
The 22-year right arm fast bowler Taskin, who is almost new in Test version cricket, said he is eagerly waiting for the series and would try to utilize the opportunities if he get any chance against Australia.
The second Test will begin in Chittagong’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium from September 4 after the first Test in Mirpur starting from August 27. The visitors will also play a two-day warm-up match on August 22-23 in Fatullah.
Meanwhile, ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan and Mehedi Hasan Miraz, who are in the Caribbean to take part in the CPL will not be available for the training camp in Chittagong along with Mosaddek Hossain, who is suffering from an eye problem, and will join the camp later.
On the other hand ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza who is not part of the training camp in Chittagong, keeping the longer version in mind, will work individually in Mirpur for the next few days.
Meanwhile, Cricket Australia today announced a 14-mmemebr squad for their Test series against Bangladesh.
