Bangladesh cricket team reached Colombo on Wednesday noon after a three-hour journey by bus from Dambulla and are now staying at the Taj Samudra Hotel.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s men will play the 3rd and last ODI of the three-match series against Sri Lanka on April 1(Saturday) which will be the 41st tussle between the two nations, scheduled to begin at 10am (Bangladesh time) at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo.
The Tigers already have a 1-0 lead in the series as they beat hosts by 90 runs in the first ODI at Dambulla on March 25, followed by an abandoned match due to rain at the same venue on March 28 where pacer Taskin Ahmed claimed a hat-trick as 5th Bangladesh’s bowler as Sri Lanka posted 311 runs.
Taskin took the scalps of Asela Gunaratne, Suranga Lakmal and Nuwan Pradeep in the last three balls of the innings to become the 5th Bangladeshi to pick up a hat-trick in ODI.
On completion of the ODI series, the Tigers will play two-match T20I series at R Premadasa Stadium on April 4 and 6 to wrap up the month long tour.
Earlier, the Tigers played a 1-1 Test series draw with maiden win against Sri Lanka, responding to all the attention surrounding their 100th Test at P Sara Oval by earning a hard-fought victory by four wickets- only their 9th overall, of which just four have come away from home.
