Bangladesh National Cricket team left the city for Australia on Saturday night to take part in the ICC World Cup Cricket 2015 scheduled to be held in Australia and New Zealand from February 14. Opener Tamim Iqbal is also scheduled to leave a day later. Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is now staying in Australia.
A total of 14 teams splitting into two groups will compete in the gala extravaganza. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, Scotland have been taken place in Pool A while India, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland, United Arab Emirates have been billed in Pool B.
Before taking part in the ICC World Cup Cricket, Bangladesh will play two practice matches against Pakistan and Ireland.
Bangladesh will face Pakistan in a practice day/night affair on February 9.
The Tigers will take on Ireland in a practice match on February 12.
After the practice matches Bangladesh will start their World Cup 2015 campaign.
Bangladesh will meet Afghanistan in their first Pool A match on February 18.
Bangladesh will take on Australia on February 21, face Sri Lanka on February 26, meet Scotland on March 5, play against England on March 9, take on New Zealand on March 13.
The players of Bangladesh team are; Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (Captain), Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad, Nasir Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, Mominul Haque, Rubel Hossain, Al-Amin Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Soumya Sarkar, Anamul Haque, Taijul Islam and Arafat Sunny.
