Tigers’ international schedule more evenly spread out in 2016/17

Following a relatively light workload in the first of 2016, that formed part of the 2015/16 season in cricket’s international calendar, Bangladesh are set to make it up to their fans in 2016/17.
The annual cricket season starts for Bangladesh with a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan later this month, and it will be rounded up with their participation next year’s eight-nation ICC Champions Trophy in England and Wales, where Bangladesh will appear for the first time in June, 2017.
During this period, the Tigers can expect at least 31 international matches– seven 7 Tests, 19 ODIs and 5 T20Is.
The Tigers last appeared in the international cricket during the March 2016 in the ICC World Twenty20. Unfortunately they had no more ODI or Test battles, after showing a promising cricket with packed scheduled in 2015.
Bangladesh vs Afghanistan (three-match ODI series at home): The series will be played from September 25 – October 1.
Bangladesh vs England (three-match ODI and two-match Tests series at home): England will arrive in Bangladesh on September 30 and start their campaign with ODIs on October 7, 9 and 12. The 1st Test will start from October 20 while the 2nd Test on Oct 28.
Bangladesh vs New Zealand (three-ODI, three-T20I, two-Test in New Zealand in 2016-2017): Christchurch will host the first ODI on December 26. The two other ODIs will be held in Nelson on December 29 and 31.
The Tigers will start their new year with the first T20I in Napier on January 3. The two other T20Is will be held in Mount Maunganui on January 6 and 8.
The first Test is scheduled to start from January 12 at will be played in Wellington while the 2nd one from January 20 in Christchurch.
Bangladesh vs India (one-Test match in India in 2017): Bangladesh will tour India, for the first time ever, to play only one Test in Hyderabad in February 8, 2017.
Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka (three-ODI, two-T20I, and two-Test Proposed tour in 2017): Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) proposed Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for a full series. BCB agreed to play. The fixture is yet to be announced.
Tri-nation series (Bangladesh, Ireland and New Zealand in Ireland 2017): Tigers will face the hosts Ireland on May 12 and 19 while play against New Zealand on May 17 and 24.
ICC Champions Trophy 2017 (in England and Wales in June 1-18): Eight teams — Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, England, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan– will take part in the ODI meet.
Bangladesh will face the hosts England in the opening match at the Kensington Oval on June 1. Then, the Tigers will face Australia on June 5 at the same venue while the last group stage match is scheduled to held in Cardiff against New Zealand on June 9.
