Tigers are getting ready to embark on a new mission as national cricketers began their preparation for the upcoming challenges of the tri-series, the two Tests against Sri Lanka followed by the two T20 internationals on Tuesday.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has asked all the players to report at the camp at 9:30 am however the ruling authority of countries cricket has not revealed who will be the coach of the team.
It is now almost certain that Khaled Mahmud Sujon may fill the shoes of Hauturusingha as the acting coach for the series as the rumour is rife in the local newspaper. BCB said they are not in a hurry to appoint a new head coach as they will wait for the best options.
Till date, Richard Pybus and Phil Simmons have completed their interviews with the BCB but BCB said there are other high profile names waiting in the list.
BCB declared a 32-member preliminary squad on December 23 for the upcoming Tri-nation starting on January 15 in the next year with an ODI match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur.
All three teams-Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe – will play in the seven-match day-night ODI series while host Bangladesh and Sri Lanka play the two Tests and two day-night T20Is to complete the meet.
