Tiger found dead on Sundarbans river bank

A dead body of a female Royal Bengal tiger was recovered by the Forest Department form the bank (char land) of the river Bhola at Dhyanchebari area within Sharankhola Forest Range under the Eastern Division of Sundarbans in Bagerhat district at Friday night, according to a delayed report received here.
It is learnt from the forest department that at the night at about 8 pm some Bawalies found the dead body of the Royal Bengal tiger there and informed the forest department of the matter. The dead female tiger was 7 feet in length and it was about 15 years old. Being informed of the matter Md. Joynul Abedin, ACF (Assistant Conservator of Forest), Sharankhola Forest Range reached the place of occurrence accompanied by a number forest guards and recovered the dead body of the tiger from there at the same night.
Muhammad Belayet Hossain, DFO (Divisional Forest Officer) of the Eastern Division of Sundarbans confirmed the matter and told, there was no sign of injuries on its body. No limbs and appendages of its body were lost. The DFO added, considering all those it is apprehended that the 15 years old female tiger died of old age complications. The body of the tiger was brought to Sharankhola Forest Range at the same night.
