Voicing satisfaction over the High Court’s verdict declaring section 32 (A) of the Anti Corruption Commission
(amendment) Act 3013 unconstitutional, the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has urged the government to take initiatives to repeal the section.
In a statement on Thursday, TIB executive director Dr Iftekharuzzaman said the HC verdict establishes that the section 32 (A) is unconstitutional and illegal, and
everybody is equal in the eyes of law as per the constitution.
He said the Prime Minister at the first cabinet meeting of the new government warned that injustice and corruption would not be tolerated.
“Issuing the same warning at the parliamentary party meeting, she instructed the MPs to stay away from corruption and irregularities,” the TIB executive director said.
