Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) on Monday demanded proper compensation for the death of a teenager, Titash Gosh, at an ambulance on a ferry after its departure was reportedly delayed by three hours for a government senior official.
Condemning the incident, the TIB strongly demanded formulation of a specific policy to stop the misuse of VIP facility.
Seriously injured Titash, who is a student of
Class-VI, died at an ambulance on the ferry which was delayed by three hours at Kathalbari Ferry Terminal in Madaripur on Thursday night.
In a statement, TIB Executive Director Dr Iftekharuzzaman said it is the basic responsibility of the State to ensure services on priority basis in case of emergency medical treatment.
