It may be recalled 16th President of the United States of America Abraham Lincoln is reported to have said at Gettysburg that government of the people by the people, for the people to honor soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. One of the richest countries in the world and relatively oldest democracy of the world 6th January of 2021 has begun as worst day in democracy of the United States of America when pro-Donald Trump people stormed the house of congress to stop counting certified copies of electoral votes in favor of Joe Biden of Democratic Party to declare him 46th President of the United States of America. The 45th President of the United States of America President Donald Trump of the United State of America acted adversely since the presidential election on 3rd November, 2020. In fact, Joe Biden, former Vice-President of the United States of America secured 303 electoral votes although 270 electoral votes make President of the United States of America. Incidentally, Joe Biden secured nearly 81.3 million popular votes which means more than seven million more votes than President Donald Trump.
According to ABC news, many people who participated in the chaos and attacked capitol came from an event held by President Donald Trump at the Ellipse, a park near the White House for an hour wherein President Trump held “Save America rally” to stop the steal of the election while urging pro-Donald Trump people to head to the Capitol (the Congress of house of representatives and Senate) as reported by ABC news channel. Donald Trump’s last effort to overturn the election result on 6th January of 2021 met with debacle indeed. A group of rowdy people broke open and entered the capitol to stop counting the result of electoral votes. Members of the House of Representatives and Senate were taken care of by the police and the session was postponed temporarily.
The huge gathering of Pro-Donald Trump in the District of Columbia to protest result of presidential election on 3rd November in favor of Joe Biden of Democratic Party while Donald Trump refused to accept the results who is on record by saying the election was stolen, apart from he continues to propagate that it was stolen by Democratic Party.
Since then, President Donald Trump has filed a series of lawsuits to prove election stolen but could not prove but lost all cases. There were as many as 50 lawsuits filed by lawyers of President Donald Trump but could not prove.
Having lost cases Attorney General of Republican party of Texas along with 126 House of Representatives of the Republican Party filed a lawsuit at Supreme Court but Supreme Court set-aside lawsuit. Pro-President Donald Trump thug entered the Capitol (Parliament) to repeat the vote that was stolen from us when vote counting of the Electoral College was in progress. Instead of honoring the verdict of the people of the United States of America President Donald Trump created anarchy and chaos. Prior to that several hundred people entered the citadel of democracy with sticks and arms and destroyed windows of the capitol. Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Majority leader of Senate Chuck Schumer are in favor of removing the President of the office by impeachment while lawmakers of both parties, cabinet members and US trade groups have begun calling Vice-President Pence invoking the 25th amendment of the constitution. Meanwhile, a group of Republican lawmakers requesting President elect Joe Biden to set-aside proposed impeachment resolution by democratic lawmakers. As of now Vice-President Pence did not commit invoking the 25th amendment of the constitution.
Heinous attack on capitol by thugs of President Donald Trump on 6th January appears to be the second time in history. It may be recalled that British soldiers attacked the capitol in 1814 in the wake of the war of 1812. The people of the United States of America want to see a peaceful transfer of power to their elected representative.
