UNB, Tangail :
Police recovered the throat-slit body of a local Awami League leader from Baraigram village in Bhuapur upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam Farid, 55, former organizing secretary of Bhuapur upazila unit of AL. Quoting family members, officer-in-charge of Bhuapur Police Station AKM Kawsar Chowdhury said Farid worked at a mill in Kagmari Para of the upazila. He did not return home on Monday night. After a frantic search, locals spotted the body of Farid near his house in Baraigram village on Tuesday morning and informed police. Police recovered the body and sent it to Tangail Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
