Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested three smugglers along with 40,000 USD, 802 bottles of Phensidyl and 138 bottles of foreign liquor from Bitty Achara border village of Benapole port police station on Friday morning.
The arrestees were identified as Abdul Jabbar, 38 ,Nahid Hossain, 20, Abdul Jabbar, 36. They hailed from different village in sarsha upazila of Jashore district.
Lt. Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB-49 said ,Tipped off a team of BGB members conducted a drive in the area and arrested them along with the US dollar and drugs in the morning.
The arrestees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station. A case was filed in this connection.
