Prominent theatre troupe Theatre is going to celebrate Pohela Boishakh 1424 by staging its three popular plays consecutively on the very first day of the Bangla New Year.
To announce this prolific event, Theatre arranged a press conference at the VIP Lounge of Dhaka Press Club on Wednesday. Ramendu Majumdar, Director (Organisational) Theatre, Eng Abu Noman Hawlader, Managing Director, BBS Cables Ltd, sponsor of the event and Syed Apon Ahsan, Director, Expressions Ltd were present at the press conference.
The event will be held on Pohela Baishakh at Mahila Samity, Natak Sarani, Baily Road. First play of the day Payer Awaj Paoa Jai, written by Syed Shamsul Haque and directed by Abdullah Al-Mamun, will be staged at 11:00am. This play has been re-designed by Sudip Chakroborty. Second play of the day Theatre’s latest production Maya Nodi, written and directed by Maruf Kabir, will be staged at 5:30pm.
Finally, Meraj Fakir-er Maa which is one of the most popular plays of Theatre, written and directed by Abdullah Al-Mamun will be staged at 7:30pm. In the press conference, speakers expressed their feelings on this very event mentioning, this is not the first time Theatre is arranging such day long performances.
