GM Ziaur Raham, FM Mohammad Javed and M Sharif Hossain shared lead in the Sheikh Russel International Rapid Rating Chess Tournament with full 5 points each after 5th round games held on Wednesday at the Bangladesh Chess Federation Auditorium.
Shafiq Ahmed, M Nazrul Islam Delu and AB Bappi shared the second slot with 4.5 points.
In the day’s 5th round games, Nazrul Islam Delu beat FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman, Zia beat Mohammad Shameem, Sharif beat FM Kh. Aminul Islam, Javed beat Zoar Haque Prodhan, Shafiq beat Shamim Khan and Bappi beat CM Sohel Chowdhury.
The prize distribution ceremony of Sheikh Russel Rapid Rating Chess Tournament and School Chess Tournament will be held today (Thursday) at 11 am at National Sports Council Tower Auditorium.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP, will present in the ceremony as the chief guest and distribute the prizes.
