Three players are sharing lead in the points table with maximum 4 points after the 4th round games of the Latif Travels International Rating Chess tournament now being held at Abul Mal Abdul Muhit Sports Complex in Sylhet.
They are GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib & IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club. Eight players are following the leaders closely with 3.5 points.
They are GM Ziaur Rahman, FM Nasir Ahmed, FM Mohammed Javed and CM Ikramul Haq Siam of Bangladesh Navy, CM Sohel Chowdhury and FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon of Sheikh Russel Chess Club and Nikhil Magizhnan of India.
In the day’s 4th round games were held today (Wednesday), CM Sohel split points with GM Zia, GM Rakib beat CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed Robin, IM Minhaz beat S M Sharon, Parag beat Md. Matiur Rahman Mamun, Nikhil split points with FM Emon, FM Nasir beat Lama Himal of Nepal, CM Siam beat M Abu Hanif, FM Javed beat Md. Mujibur Rahman, FM Fahad defeated Niraula Bhupendra of Nepal.
