Three people were killed and 27 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Patdhari under Solonga Police Station of the district on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, 42, a college teacher, Abdullah, 30, son of Abul Sarker of Patdhari village and Asadul, 33, son of Shukkur Ali of Baguda village.
The Bogra-bound bus from Pabna hit a rickshaw-van and then plunged into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the three people dead on the spot, said officer-in-charge of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station Abdul Quader Zilani. The injured were whisked off to different local hospitals.
