Three killed in separate road crashes

At least three more persons were killed and several others critically injured in separate road crashes in joypurhat, Pabna and Jhenaidah districts since Sunday night to Monday.
In Joypurhat, a former headmaster of a primary school died after rammed by an auto-rickshaw in front of a bank at Kalai upazila headquarters on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Khalek, 65, a resident of Takahut village of the upazila and former head teacher of
 Purkalitola Government Primary School.
Police said that the vehicle struck Khalek in front of Sonali Bank around 10am, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was taken to Kalai Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
Family sources said that the teacher went to bank to receive his pension money.
In Pabna, a man, identified as Almagir Sheikh, 39, was killed and two others were injured as a tank lorry collided with an auto-rickshaw on the Pabna-Nagarbari Highway in the Dhobahata area of the upazila around 7pm.
Abu Saleh, in-Charge of Madhpur Highway Police confirmed the matter to media.
In Jhenaidah, one Badar Uddin, 65, was crushed to death by a tractor on the Gopalpur Road in Durgapur area of the upazila, around 5:30pm.
Gopalpur Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Nirab Hossain confirmed the matter.
Police recovered the body from the spot and sent to Jhenaidah sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy.
