At least three people have been killed after a reckless bus rammed an auto-rickshaw from behind at Chuknagar in Dumuria upazila of Khulna district around 8 pm on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Yunus Ali (35), auto-rickshaw driver, Rajibul Islam (40) a resident of Gadaipur in Paikgacha and the passenger Habibur Rahman (40).
Nasir Uddin, in-charge of Chuknagar Highway Police Outpost, said that a Dhaka-bound bus lost control while recklessly moving and crushed an auto-rickshaw. There were two passengers including the driver of the auto-rickshaw were killed.
After being informed, the police of Dumuria Fire Service and Chuknagar Highway Police Camp went to the spot and carried out the rescue operation.
Dumuria Fire Service in-charge Tanvir Hasan said that the bodies were recovered from the spot and sent to the Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) morgue with the help of police.
