Three killed, 25 more injured in rival clash in B’Baria

At least three persons, including a pregnant women, were killed and 25 others critically injured in a clash over soil trading in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district from Saturday night to Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Kala Miah, 70, son of one Hazi Aala Bux from Mirpur area, college student Mansur,22, son of one Khosh Miah, and Nasima, 30, pregnant wife of one Al Amin of same village.
Local sources and police said, two rival groups of the villagers locked in an altercation over soil business and broke the veku machine. At a stage, both groups, who had longstanding enmity, attacked each other with lethal weapons.
Rezaul Kabir, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Brahmanbaria Sadar and Bijoynagar circle confirmed the news to media that the three people who have been undergoing treatment at Sadar Hospital succumbed to their injuries on Saturday night and Monday (March 18) morning.
The injured were sent to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital.
