Coast Guard members in a drive arrested two robbers and rescued three kidnapped fishermen from a den of robbers in Dakatia canal area in Mongla upazila on Thursday.
The arrestees are: Hossain Sheikh, 28, son of Sultan Sheikh and Rubel Sheikh, 21, son of Nabi Sheikh of Dighalia upazila in Khulna district.
Tipped off, a team of Coast Guard conducted a drive in the area and arrested the two robbers along with two sharp weapons, said a press release of the Coast Guard.
Later they also rescued three fishermen from their den. The robbers kidnapped the fishermen and demanded ransom from their family members.
