A pair of twins aged just two-and-half, drowned in a pond in Boalmari village in Sathia upazila on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Ahad and Samad, sons of Alauddin Ali of the village.
Inspector (Investigation) of Sathia Police Station Abdul Majid said the two brothers were frolicking near their house around 2:30pm,when they fell into the pond at one stage unnoticed.
Later, local people recovered their floating, lifeless bodies from the pond.
Rajshahi Correspondnet adda: The body of a schoolboy was recovered from the Padma River near the cityon Fridaynight, five hours after he drowned in the river.
The deceased was identified as Nazmus Sakib, son of RTV cameraman Sanu and a class X student of Loknath School.
Fire service sources said Sakib went to the river with his friends for swimming.
At one stage of his swimming, he got stuck in a quicksand of the river and went missing.
Informed, a team of fire service, led by commanding officer Ahsan Kabir of Rajshahi Fire Service and Civil Defence, rushed in and recovered the body around10pmafter five hours of efforts.
