Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Detective Branch (DB) arrested three people on charge of killing a person at his rented flat for taking his money in the capital’s Darus Salam area on Wednesday.
The arrested are Baker Khan, Abdur Rob and Abul Hashem.
They were arrested in separate drives on Friday for killing their friend, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner for Detective Branch AKM Hafiz Akter in a briefing on Saturday.
He said that unidentified miscreants entered the rented room of Akhter Hossain in the Dhaka’s Darus Salam area on February 17. They hit his head with a heavy object after tying his limbs and face at his flat. Later a case was filed at Darus Salam police station in the incident.
The official said that the victim and the accused were friends and they lived in the same area. Baker, who used to visit Akhter’s flat often, stole Tk 20,000 from the flat a month ago.
Baker thought that Akhter might have kept more money in the flat and planned the murder incident with the two others, he added.
The three went to the flat on Wednesday and at one stage of their conversations attacked Akhter and killed him after tying him up, he further added.
