Candidates of Awami League, BNP and Jatiya Party submitted nomination papers for the by-election of Pabna-4 constituency (Ishwardi-Atgharia) on Wednesday afternoon. Awami League nominee Ishwardi Upazila Chairman and Pabna District Awami League Senior Vice-President Nuruzzaman Biswas, BNP nominee Pabna District BNP convener and Begum Khaleda Zia’s advisory council member Habibur Rahman Habib submitted nomination papers to the Ishwardi Upazila Election Officer’s Office.
On the other hand, Jatiya Party nominee Rezaul Karim submitted his nomination papers in the office of Atgharia Upazila Election Officer.
Among them are Awami League nominee Nuruzzaman Biswas, Pabna district Awami League acting President and Pabna district council chairman Rezaur Rahman Lal, Ishwardi municipal mayor Abul Kalam Azad Mintu, late MP Shamsur Rahman Sharif’s daughter Mahjebin Shirin Pia and son Galibur Rahman Sharif among others.
Similarly, BNP nominee Habibur Rahman Habib was accompanied by former MP Abdul Bari Sardar, Pabna district BNP member secretary Siddiqur Rahman, Mahila Dal central leader Miru and Nari Netri Dolly and other leaders of different levels. On the other hand, Jatiya Party candidate was accompanied by his supporters.
Before submitting the nomination papers, the presence of leaders and workers of different levels in support of each candidate can be noticed in the festive atmosphere at Ishwardi Upazila Parishad premises. BNP candidate Habibur Rahman Habib said that neutral vote was not held during the tenure of this government. If there is a neutral vote in this seat, if people can go to the polls and vote, then I will win by a huge margin. And if I win, the government will win, democracy will win.
Similarly, Awami League candidate Nuruzzaman Biswas said, “Leaders and activists of all levels of the party are working together for my victory.” Ordinary people are also on my side.
Therefore, he expressed hope that I will be a sure winner in the September 26 elections.
