Three unidentified bodies were found in Naf river at Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Saturday afternoon, reported our correspondent quoting police.
Teknaf Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Abdul Alim said, bodies of two children and a woman were recovered from Naf river near Hnila union in Teknaf upazila at 12:30 pm on Saturday. Police are trying to confirm the identities of the victims, he said.
Abdul Alim added that locals informed the police
when they saw three bodies floating in the Naf river. Police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. There were no signs of injuries on any of the bodies, Alim said, adding that, initially the deceased were believed to be Rohingyas. They may have drowned while crossing the river.
The bodies have been sent to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, Alim added.
