Three female bodies were recovered in the city’s Shahbagh, Farmgate and Shah Ali areas in last two days from Monday, police said.
Quoting the witnesses, Shahbagh Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Suruj Uddin said that police recovered the body from Uttarbanga Hotel on Syed Nazul Islam Sarani around 11:30 am on Tuesday. The body has been identified as Tahmina Akter Sathi, 30, inhabitant of Chandpur district.
He added that the police primarily thought that she was suffocated to death after rape in the area.
The police official said that the body had been sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.
On the other hand, quoting the witnesses, Sher-e-Banglanagar Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Sanjib Kumar said that police recovered the body of a girl in front of the Hotel at Farmgate on Monday night. The identity of the body could not be known immediately.
The police official said that the body had been sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.
