Staff Reporter: This year’s lowest temperature in the country has been recorded at 4.5 degrees celsius in Tetulia upazila of Panchagarh.
Rahidul Islam, officer in charge of Tetulia Weather Observation Centre of Bangladesh Meteorological Department said,` The cold wind from the Himalayan side is sweeping easily through the northern region resulting in the temperature drop which is being further exacerbated due to clear sky.`
He said also that the temperature may continue like such cold for this week.
Our correspondents said that the people of the north region are in trouble due to record low temperature crippled their daily life.
People are found enjoying fire warms in different areas of the region in morning and evenings to get rid of from the serious cold weather.
Besides, numbers of people especially elderly ones and children are affected from cold related diseases. Many of them are admitted in hospitals.
