Life Desk :

Do you love make-up shopping? Dermatologist Dr Kiran Lohia shares pointers on what you should keep in mind before buying your make-up.
– Know your skin type: A good thing to keep in mind is that almost everyone at some time or another has combination skin. So choose the product according to your skin.
– Look for non-comedogenic products: Non-comedogenic means that it does not clog pores, thereby preventing pesky blackheads or whiteheads.
-Try mineral-based make-up: Minerals are 100 per cent natural and inert, hence that have a very low risk of allergy. So for the safest and gentlest make-up, pure minerals are the best!
– Say no to alcoholic products: Alcohol or other irritating ingredients (peppermint, menthol, citrus) they dry and irritate your skin, triggering more oil production.
– Go natural: Try to use homemade lip balms and stay from bad cosmetic products. Always wash off your makeup at night. Otherwise, your skin won’t get the chance to breathe.
