Narayanganj Correspondent :Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) had picked up panel mayor and councilor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Nazrul Islam and killed him. The Commanding Officer (CO) and two majors have taken Tk. six crore for it.Shahidul Islam alias chairman Shahid, father in law of Nazrul Islam made the serious allegation while talking to the press at Narayanganj Rifle Club on Sunday. He however, did not elaborate from whomthe money was received by CO. Shamim Osman, MP of Narayanganj- 4 (Fatullah-Siddirganj) constituency was beside him.Director General of RAB Moklesur Rahman told the media that truth would be unveiled through investigation. He termed the matter as very delicate. The matter is under investigation, he said adding that he would not like to make further comment before the investigation. Meanwhile, Tareq Sayed Mahmud who was CO of RAB- 11 is now back to the army. It should be recalled that he was withdrawn following the recovery of bodies of the seven abducted persons from the river Sitalakhya.When seven persons including Nazrul Islam were being abducted on April 27 afternoon some sand workers were eye witness of the incident. They have seen a micro-bus marked RAB-11, Shahidul Islam further alleged. He further said that he had brought the matter to the knowledge of Shamim Osman, MP immediately. Shamim Osman, he said had asked him to meet CO of RAB-11 at Adamjee. The CO, he alleged, asked him different questions keeping him waiting at his office for six hours. Shahidul Islam alleged that he had gone to file case immediately after abduction against RAB-11 and other officers allegedly involved in the abduction but SP and Officer in Charge of Fatullah model thana did not take any case against them. He said that he himself was also suffering from a sense of insecurity.Shahid chairman demanded finding out the RAB officials involved in the abduction and their punishment.
