The opening ceremony of 16 days’ grand festival on the occasion of
50 years of independence of Bangladesh titled 50 Bochhor Lal Sabuj Mohoutsob was held at the Amphitheatre of Hatirjheel on December 1 night. Organised by FBCCI and sponsored by Beximco, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present as the chief guest online. The programme began
with anchoring by Munmun, who recently came to country and she was staying abroad for long time. Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister Salman F Rahman was present as special guest in the
inaugural ceremony of the event. Chaired by FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam was also present as invited guest. Besides legendary singers of the country, singers of different generations also performed in the show. Hundred singers performed in the musical session of the event. For the first time, seven celebrities
performed on the stage with the patriotic songs. Ferdous, Purnima and Bidya Sinha Mim performed with solo patriotic songs. Mehzabien-Nirab and Emon-Toma Mirza also performed as pairs.
While sharing his feelings to
perform in the event film actor Ferdous said, “I am delighted to be part of a grand festival. It is really
a likeable matter to perform in such a show where response from the audience can receive instantly.”
Bidya Sinha Mim said, “It is really a delightful matter to perform
in an event on the occasion of 50 years of independence of our country.” Mehazabien said, “For last few days I am totally absent from acting in television dramas. But besides this, I am doing everything like performing in TVCs and stage shows. It was a joyful matter
for me to participate in the programme.” Toma Mirza shared her feelings by this way, “To perform
in the opening day’s event of 16 days long grand festival, I have become part of a history.”
