Promising opener Mohammad Naim said, ” T20 World Cup is a big event. There is a responsibility to play in World Cup. I shall try to fulfill my duty while I play in the matches of upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. When I play for Bangladesh National Cricket team, I always think I have to excel with my willow. I always try to do something special when I play in international matches.”
It may be mentioned that Mohammad Naim appeared in the HSC examinations about six years ago. But he failed to do well in that examinations. After that he made debut in the Twent20 International match against India in 2019 in absence of dashing opener Tamim Iqbal.
Naim said, ” We can’t assess the wicket of upcoming T20 World Cup before taking part in the World Cup matches. It will be not wise to compare the wicket of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur with the wickets of the T20 World Cup in the UAE. I want to keep my batting after maintaining my batting approach. I shall be happy if I keep my consistency.”
Naim have watched some Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in the UAE. He thinks the wickets of the UAE are more helpful for the batter than the wickets of Mirpur. It seemed to him that the spinner could play a vital role in the UAE.
Naim expects that to play in the UAE will be easier than to play in Mirpur.
He said, ” My target is only one. I shall try to contribute for my team’s victory. As I shall do batting in the top-order, I have to do an auspicious start for my team. We have a good chance to do well in this World Cup. If everybody shows their best, we shall get a good result.”
He also said, ” We shall play two warm-up matches in the UAE. We shall get the idea about the condition and pitches of UAE from Shakib Bhai and Mustafiz Bhai. So, I am optimistic about our team’s result in the T20 World Cup.”
