The newly formed theatre group named Theaterian is set to stage their debut production, an adaptation
of renowned American
playwright Arthur Miller’s famous play, Death of a Salesman. The play revolves around the loss of identity and a man’s struggle to accept change in himself and society. After their technical staging from April 19 to 21, Theaterian premiered the show on April 22 and 23
at 7:30 pm at Bangladesh Mahila Samity in the
capital’s Bailey Road area.
According to a press release, the play is translated by Fateh Lohani, with Bangladeshi contexts in mind. It is directed by Ashiqur Rahman Leeon, Chairman, Department of Theatre and Performance Studies of University of Dhaka. The cast of the adaptation include Tohid Biplob, Urmil Mazumder, Poly Chowdhury, Tasmia Mim and Amirul Mamun.
