There is no doubt that the status of the Olympic Football is behind the World Cup, the European Championship and the Copa America, yet its magnetism is no less than in any other discipline. That is why tens and thousands of spectators are waiting for a classic final to be played between the defending champions Brazil and the 2012 Champions Spain today in Tokyo.
It is hard to make prediction as to which team will finally triumph. It is because victory does not depend upon gallery show and individual display. Had it been, an ex. Germany coach said, Brazil would have won the World Cup every time. But that did not happen.
Brazil’s 1982 World Cup squad is considered as the best ever team, but they lost to Italy even after taking 2-0 lead. That is why Zico said, football is the game of goal. It beseems to me that Brazil’s forwards are weak in shooting power. That is the plus point for Spain. They play passing football to make the opponents impatient. Sudden shot in the opponents’ goal post is the area of expertise of the European side.
To me Spain have 50 percent chance to regain the title. Contrarily Brazil has been crying for another Garincha to charm the world of football.
